THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY SAFARI SUMMARY

The Great Rift Valley Safari journey begins with Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its birdlife especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. Then proceed to The Masai Mara national Reserve is Kenya’s Most popular game Reserve. The Reserve is relatively small ( a little smaller than Rhode Island) yet plays host to the Amazing concentration of wildlife. You are almost guaranteed to see all the big five. Lions abound throughout the Park as do leopards, cheetah and hyenas. Between July and October, when the great wildebeest migration is on in the Masai Mara , the Sensation is unparalled. Around the end of June, drawn by the long rains of April and May, it is estimated that more than half a million wildebeests enter the Masai Mara National Reseve. These are in addition joined by another 100,000 from Loita Hills east of the Mara.

TOUR THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY SAFARI FULL ITINERARY

Spend 3 nights/ 4 days to Masai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru national reserve

Day 1 – Lake Nakuru National Park
Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, briefed by a Destination Connect representative and drive towards the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch. At 1600hrs, enjoy an afternoon game drive in park that also takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its birdlife, especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 

Day 2- Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive to the world famous Masai Mara game reserve, arriving at Keekorok Lodge in  time for lunch. At 1600hrs enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and  overnight at the lodge.

Day 3- Masai Mara National Reserve
Full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti and its rolling plains are home to hundreds of plains game together with predators that feed on them. All meals and overnight at Keekorok Lodge.

 

Day 4- Depart
Depart the Mara after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant which has twice been voted amongst the worlds 50 best restaurants by UK based Restaurant magazine.  Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
